Puan Berdaya
“Building stronger community, for stronger movement”
About Puan Berdaya Grant
Puan Berdaya is one of the participatory grant schemes under the Dayakita Program, initiated by Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial (Humanis). This scheme is part of Dayakita’s ongoing efforts to learn how to develop funding practices that are more inclusive, care-based, and empower movements through shared decision-making.
Puan Berdaya is designed to strengthen the foundations of organizations, communities, and collectives focused on promoting social justice and inclusivity, whether emerging or evolving organizations, especially those that have historically faced limited access to resources and funding. In the early stages of their journey, organizations, communities, and collectives need not only resources to carry out their agenda and work, but also space to build systems, leadership, governance, and working methods that enable them to thrive, grow, and endure alongside the movement.
In its selection process, Puan Berdaya upholds the principles of power-sharing, inclusivity, and care. The voices of women, people of diverse genders and sexualities, and marginalized groups that have long been underrepresented will be integral to the selection process. The opportunities this approach creates serve to strengthen the feminist funding ecosystem in Indonesia.
Grant Objectives
This grant is intended for organizations, communities, or collectives established within the last 5 (five) years that focus on justice and the rights of marginalized groups.
This grant is specifically intended to strengthen the internal capacity of organizations, communities, and collectives in ways that are fundamental to supporting their vision, mission, and sustainability. The funds may be used flexibly and are not limited to strengthening feminist capacity and leadership, organizational systems and governance, inclusive and care-based work practices, or other foundational needs.
Through these efforts, Puan Berdaya aims to support the process of building a healthier, more resilient, and sustainable organizational foundation. This allows the organizations to thrive, practice shared leadership, and care for the people who work within the movement.
