Humanis stands with the local community. Community-led initiative is impactful, no matter the scale. Puan Berdaya, or Women’s Power, is a grant that aims to serve as a catalyst for growing participatory initiatives with collective care at their core.
The sustainability of community and women’s rights organizations is an integral foundation for the women’s movement, driving change. However, more often than not, communities and organizations are trapped within the complex bureaucracy of a project. In this condition, sometimes the space to provide care for themselves can be neglected, as the condition is overwhelming enough for them.
Puan Berdaya is born out of the concern for collective care, fostering solidarity, and ensuring the community and women’s rights organization thrives. This grant aims to strengthen the community for more impactful initiatives for all.
For Humanis, every initiative that centralizes the most marginalized will create greater impact. The presence of women-led local communities, often the closest entity of the most impacted, matters the most. We believe, their presence is a form of resistance.
Who is eligible to apply?
- Organization, group, community, network, or alliance led by women.
- The applicant who possesses a deed of establishment. If the applicant does not have the legal documents, they may choose a host organization through mutual agreement.
