Rawat Asa

Rawat Asa

“To keep hopes Alive, for justice and for all”

Solidarity and intersectionality are the bloodline of women’s movements. The name Rawat Asa derives from its Indonesian meaning: “to nurture hopes.” Through this grant, we recognize that care, equality, and solidarity support one another. The grant aims to strengthen women’s movements in six (6) regions of Indonesia.

For us, hope is an everlasting fuel to create a just and sustainable world. Rawat Asa grant is a space to strengthen solidarity. It is also a tool to fight and a vehicle for a stronger movement. Simply put, hope exists for women’s movements to persist, to demand rights, and to grow collective power.

We believe, to nurture hope is to nurture the community. From hope, born bravery and leadership. For change and for all.

Your Initiative

Through Rawat Asa, the Dayakita program seeks the community that proposes initiatives to advance gender equality in their area of work. The initiative centralizes collective care principles, within the organization or for external women’s organizations and the community.

We are looking for proposals that foster the movement, strengthen women’s leadership, and demand the fulfillment of women’s rights and those of other marginalized groups. The initiative should have the potential of long-term sustainability, supported by past best practices and existing initiatives in the area of work.

The selected organization will also support the process of creating Dayakita’s baseline study by serving as the focal point and resource person for data collection. They will also bridge Humanis’ team with relevant local organizations and communities in the region, becoming co-facilitators in data collection and reviewing the data validation process.

Humanis provides necessary assistance for all Rawat Asa grantees. Assistance that is tailored specifically for the grantees’ needs in strengthening their organizational capacity, broadening their network, and providing relevant knowledge or information.
