Urun Jaga, an emergency resourcing mechanism from Humanis, was created to ensure that women and gender and sexual diversity community Human Rights Defenders (HRD), as well as women climate defenders, can access aid, holistic security, and wellbeing.
Humanis understands the complex and often dangerous path to change. Women Human Rights Defenders (HRD), activists, and even concerned citizens are more at risk of facing violence and repercussions than their male counterparts. Therefore, mutual protection should be available and accessible for all.
Through this resourcing mechanism, we aim to provide holistic security for women and gender and sexually diverse activists who face repercussions or violence during acts of resistance.
Urun Jaga is always open and accessible to every woman and the marginalized, anytime.
Eligibility
Women and gender and sexually diverse activists are eligible to access this fund. Urun Jaga is accessible whenever you are in a dangerous or threatening situation because of your activism or while assisting marginalized communities. Threats range from physical, psychological, or digital threats to violence.
In addition to individuals, organizations or collectives that defend women’s rights and gender and sexual diversity rights are also eligible to access Urun Jaga if they face repercussions or threats during their work.
Coverage of Urun Jaga
Urun Jaga covers cases or incidents such as follows:
- Threats of violence.
- Unlawful arrests.
- Physical violence.
- Psychological violence.
- Digital attack.
- Forced eviction.
- Criminalization.
Assistance and Resources of Urun Jaga
Urun Jaga supports:
- Legal assistance.
- Emergency evacuation and temporary relocation, including the coverage of necessary logistical and accommodation needs.
- Psychosocial supports.
- Device or other technology procurements (smartphones, CCTV, etc.).

Schemes
Humanis provides two schemes in Urun Jaga, which are:
