Communication Assistant Consultant

Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial (hereinafter: Humanis), an affiliate organization of Hivos, is a Jakarta-based non-profit development organization that works across the Southeast Asia region. Humanis works with marginalized groups and frontrunners to exercise rights and freedoms, bring about changes, influence decisions and hold those in power to account. As the name itself suggests, Humanis envisions just and sustainable societies in Southeast Asia that fulfill and protect the rights of each individual, as well as respect differences and backgrounds. To achieve our vision, we focus on three impact areas: Gender Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI), Civic Rights in the Digital Age (CRIDA), and Climate Justice. Currently, we have ongoing programs in Indonesia, Timor-Leste, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

Humanis seeks qualified candidates for the position of:
Title                  :  Communication Assistant Consultant

Duty Station      :  remote

Report to          :  Communication Officer

Duration           :  April to September 2024

In 2024, half of the population with overwhelming numbers of first-time voters and digital natives across the world exercise their rights to choose and elect their leaders. In parallel with these waves of elections, the growing concern of regressing democracy, shrinking civic space, increasing number of digital draconian laws, and prevalent gender-based violence persists. Civil society needs to engage and have a voice to influence policies across the intersectionality of sectors that affect the enjoyment of indivisible, interdependent, and interrelated human rights across all levels of society, particularly the most vulnerable and the most marginalized.

Humanis works to alleviate the voices of the most impacted and vulnerable. We advocate for societies where each individual enjoys their basic, socioeconomic, and political rights and is free from any forms of violence and threat including the threat of environmental degradation. We intend to build wide societal support for rightsholders-centric solutions through an inclusive, rights-based, and gender-sensitive approach.

A strong narrative and a shared platform are necessary in order to effectively amplify the voice of local, national, and national civil society for just and sustainable societies. To assist the growing Humanis platform, we are looking for a Part-Time Communication Assistant Consultant to help our team.

Under the supervision of the Communications Officer, the consultant will support the communications team in implementing its communication strategy as well as developing and implementing social media strategy for Humanis by aligning it with team priorities and giving visibility to partner initiatives. 4. Provide analysis of the performance of the organization’s social media platforms, including engagement, reach, and content, based on data and statistics monthly.
  5. Manage the organization’s social media accounts and disseminate targeting messaging to key audiences and feeds to other relevant social media accounts or handles to amplify Humanis’ content.
  6. To keep up to date with the latest social media trends, best practices, and technologies for best practices application in social media campaigns to increase digital engagement
