Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial (hereinafter: Humanis), an affiliate organization of Hivos, is a Jakarta-based non-profit development organization that works across the Southeast Asia region. Humanis works with marginalized groups and frontrunners to exercise rights and freedoms, bring about changes, influence decisions and hold those in power to account. As the name itself suggests, Humanis envisions just and sustainable societies in Southeast Asia that fulfill and protect the rights of each individual, as well as respect differences and backgrounds. To achieve our vision, we focus on three impact areas: Gender Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI), Civic Rights in the Digital Age (CRIDA), and Climate Justice. Currently, we have ongoing programs in Indonesia, Timor-Leste, the Philippines, and Vietnam

Background
Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial (Humanis) is looking for a communication consultant (one person) for the Global Girls Creating Change project implementation in Indonesia.
The Global Girls Creating Change (G2C2) is a project that aims to foster and elevate a diverse movement of girl-centered climate action to lead, shape, and inform equitable, inclusive climate policies and actions. This is informed by an intersectional climate justice approach, with girls in all their diversity, and in particular girls from marginalized groups disproportionately affected by climate change, at the center. The project is implemented by a consortium of Hivos (lead), Restless Development, and Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial (Humanis) with In-County programming in Brazil, Indonesia, Nepal and Uganda.
Objective
To support young women and girls lead the movement in climate justice, the Global Girls Creating Change (G2C2) project needs a robust communication and campaign strategy to meaningfully engage various stakeholders such as civil society, community, private sector, and government. Humanis is looking for a Communication Consultant (one person) to support the G2C2 team in the project implementation, strengthening the communication and campaign by strategizing, initiating, and facilitating media and general public, targeting 25 media to publish G2C2 news, articles, or both, as well as engaging targeted audience and participating actively in the program.
Scope of work
The consultant is expected to:
- Develop and implement effective G2C2 communication and campaign strategies to support the G2C2 Theory of Change and achievements
- Develop and apply G2C2 brand guideline, including its visual design representation, to all project’s communication products
- Ensure the implementation of public and stakeholders engagement events as part of project’s campaign and advocacy
- Manage the implementation of content creation to support publication, education, and campaign of G2C2 implementing partners in supporting the project Theory of Change
- Ensure the media engagement as part of G2C2 campaign and visibility strategy to support the project Theory of Change and whenever possible, to support the national and mainstream media engagement of Yayasan Humanis
- Ensure the youth and gender sensitive communication as well as inclusive approach to implement campaign strategy
- Provide analysis on the performance of G2C2 communication and campaign strategies, including public and stakeholder engagement, visibility, learning, and evaluation
- Other communication and campaign related task to support project Theory of Change that may suitable with the consultant scope of work
- Collaborate closely with Humanis’ Communication Officer to effectively manage the flow of G2C2 communication and publication across all organizational communication channels.
Qualifications and Experiences :
- Indonesia individual consultant
- Demonstrated understanding of gender dynamics in climate change and the ability to communicate effectively about girls’ leadership roles in mitigating and adapting to climate change.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans tailored to engage diverse audiences, including policymakers, activists, media, and the general public.
- Proficiency in utilizing various communication channels and mediums, including social media, traditional media, online platforms, and visual storytelling, to effectively convey messages about girls’ leadership in the climate movement.
- Sensitivity to cultural nuances and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultural contexts, ensuring inclusivity and relevance of messaging.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with project stakeholders, including media, youth leaders, NGOs, government agencies, and community-based organizations, to amplify the voices of girls in the climate movement.
- Ability to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of communication strategies on raising awareness, mobilizing support, and fostering girls’ leadership in the climate movement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner, and deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences
