Project Officer for Global Girls Creating Change (G2C2) project
Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial (Yayasan Humanis) is an Indonesian organization affiliated with Hivos, born out of an active collaboration between Netherlands based Hivos and several like-minded Indonesian academics and civil society leaders who subscribe to the values and mission of Hivos. The purpose is to promote humanistic values in the social, economic, health, and cultural fields which is defined in terms of the ability for each individual to assess and decide independently and responsibly, the right to freedom, dignity and a passion to create a just and tolerant society.
Yayasan Humanis seeks qualified candidates for the position of:

Duration : 1 year
Yayasan Humanis upcoming three-year ‘Global Girls Creating Change’ (G2C2) project aims to foster and elevate a diverse movement of girl-centered climate action to lead, shape, and inform equitable, inclusive climate policies and actions. This is informed by an intersectional climate justice approach, with girls in all their diversity, and in particular girls from marginalized groups disproportionately affected by climate change, at the center.
It will be implemented by a consortium of Hivos (lead), Restless Development, and Yayasan Humanis with In-County programming in Brazil, Indonesia, Nepal and Uganda, and coalition country programming also reaching up to 25 additional countries.
G2C2 has three objectives:
1. To support girls to develop the skills and capacity to engage in and lead inclusive climate action (training, mentorship and evidence-building)
2. To foster a diverse coalition of girls to participate in and influence equitable climate policies at local, national, regional and global levels (advocacy)
3. To provide grants, training and other support for girls to co-create climate innovations in their communities (innovation fund)
Functional Context
The Project Officer will provide project leadership and be responsible for the day-to-day management including planning, implementing and monitoring of the project. The position is Jakarta-based with some intercity travels for coordination, monitoring and stakeholders’ engagement in the following areas of function:
1. Project Management. Maintain high quality documentation and coordination mechanism throughout the project. This includes budget tracking, and ensuring budget expenditure is in line as per Hivos and the donor guidelines.
2. Partners Relation. Maintaining the project objective through coordination with implementing partners at the national and subnational level in order to achieve the highest quality standard of the project delivery.
3. Capacity Development. Identify needs of the partner, associates and target groups and provide tailor made capacity development for advocacy and public engagement through research, training and exchange.
4. Networking. Maintain smooth collaboration with related partners that is instrumental on project implementation.
Roles and responsibilities
Coordination and Engagement
1. Coordinate the implementation of the G2C2 project in Indonesia;
2. Facilitate regular communication with the partners in project implementation;
3. Direct program report to the G2C2 Global Program Manager and liaise with counterparts in other G2C2 program countries (Nepal, Uganda) to ensure cross-learning, sharing of best practices, strategic coherence and joint advocacy.
4. In close coordination with the Yayasan Humanis Program Development Manager Climate Justice in particular, and the Climate Justice team impact area, in general, to achieve G2C2 project objectives and synergies across other relevant projects under Climate Justice.
Grant Management
1. Provide technical assistance to the partners in the implementation of projects on and as needed basis;
2. Ensure budget expenditure and project activities are carried out as planned;
3. Ensure effective post contract grant management including collection and assessment of reports, follow up, communication with and monitoring partners and associates on the ground;
4. Ensure scheduled payments, and liaise with Project Assistant and Finance Officer to ensure seamless grantee management and communication.
Compliance, Reporting and Administration
1. Communicate progress and results of the project to Global PM;
2. In collaboration with DMEL Coordinator responsible to produces narrative report including the monitoring process for outcome harvesting and other reporting needed, assesses progress, analyses actual and potential risks and problems;
3. Together with the Finance Officer prepare financial reports in accordance with internal and external contractual and other requirements;
4. Monitor information and identify issues on budget and expenditure in All Solutions system;
5. Design and organize events and capacity building activities for partners and target beneficiaries within Yayasan Humanis’s own deliverables in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
Knowledge, experiences and competencies
• Relevant work experience of minimum five years’ managing and delivering program activities aimed at girls/youth on training and mentorship, advocacy and movement building, and/or innovation funds (desirable).
• Experience in project and grant management including make sound project management judgement and analysis
• Demonstrable network, experience and track record relating to youth and girls, climate justice in Indonesia
• Ability, experience and commitment to support local ownership of partners including girls’ engagement and leadership.
• Strong interpersonal, excellent verbal, writing and communication skills in English Bahasa Indonesia and ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
• Keen understanding of political, economic and social dynamics relating to gender, inclusion and climate change in Indonesia and at SEA region level
• Networking, relationship building and negotiation skills including experience with donor reporting and account management
• Experience with and understanding of monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) concepts, plans and processes
• Job skills: communication, project management, independence
• Level skills: conceptual skills, persuasiveness, decisiveness
