Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial (hereinafter: Humanis), an affiliate organization of Hivos, is a Jakarta-based non-profit development organization that works across the Southeast Asia region. Humanis works with marginalized groups and frontrunners to exercise rights and freedoms, bring about changes, influence decisions and hold those in power to account. As the name itself suggests, Humanis envisions just and sustainable societies in Southeast Asia that fulfill and protect the rights of each individual, as well as respect differences and backgrounds. To achieve our vision, we focus on three impact areas: Gender Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI), Civic Rights in the Digital Age (CRIDA), and Climate Justice. Currently, we have ongoing programs in Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and the Philippines.

 

Humanis seeks qualified candidates for the position of:
Title                  :  Consultant for Content Creator FOCUS

Duty Station      :  Jakarta, Indonesia

Report to          :  PM FOCUS

Duration           :  April to September 2025 for 36 working days (8 hours/day)

 

ETHICS AND CONFLICT OF INTEREST

The consultant shall comply with the principles stipulated in the Humanis Safeguarding Policy to ensure the assessment processes are promoting and protecting people’s health, well-being and human rights, and enabling them to live free of harm, exploitation and abuse. The Policy entails a wide range of policies, procedures and activities seeking to address the welfare of staff, partner organization(s) and those come in contact with such as children (under 18 years old) and (vulnerable) adults. Consent to participate in the assessment will be given freely, without coercion and influence from financial inducement, improper pressure, or any form of misrepresentation and applying research ethics that ensure and acknowledge respondents’ rights in taking part or to object involvement in the assessment, maximize possible benefits and minimize possible harms.

 

Background

The Fisherfolk Empowerment for Climate Resilience and Sustainability (FOCUS) program aims at building a sustainable food system for the fisherfolk community in five districts in Central Java (Batang, Kendal, Semarang, Demak, and Jepara) through integrated coastal management. This program is supported by The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and is the result of co-creation process between Hivos, Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial (Humanis), Koalisi Rakyat untuk Keadilan Perikanan (KIARA), Pusat Kajian Sumberdaya Pesisir dan Lautan, IPB University  (PKSPL-IPB), and Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI).  Within the four years of project period (15 December 2022 – 15 December 2026), the advocacy, awareness raising, and capacity development will be provided in cooperation with local authorities and other stakeholders to implement the activities under four outcomes:

  • Inter-sectoral coordination platform produced policy recommendation/draft of policies/other legal documents on integrated coastal management for a sustainable food system
  • Local stakeholders apply improved/adaptive sustainable fisheries and coastal management to mitigate disaster risk & impact of climate crisis
  • Sustainable and inclusive livelihoods opportunities for coastal communities are promoted, particularly among women and the youth
  • Public increased their understanding and engagement on sustainable management of marine and coastal assets (fisheries, mangroves, reefs) and climate crisis

 

Objective

To effectively populate our knowledge management website with valuable resources, we will engage a Content Creator Consultant. This consultant will play a crucial role in developing high-quality outreach and communication materials that bolster our advocacy and learning initiatives. By leveraging their expertise, we aim to enrich our knowledge management offerings and engage our audience more effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities 

The assigned Content Creator consultant will be responsible for:

  1. Content Development and Creation
  2. Editing and Quality Assurance
  3. Optimization and Analytics
  4. Audience Engagement
  5. Trend Awareness and Continuous Learning
  6. Capacity Building
  7. Content Management

 

Qualifications and Experiences :

The selected consultant or institution should meet the following qualifications and experience requirements

  • Proven experience in content curation/creation and producing communication products, such as videos, posters, brochures, and newsletters, as well as in copywriting and digital marketing.
  • Proficiency in various graphic design, communication, and social media software, applications, and tools like iDesign, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Proficiency in different social media platforms and best practices for content sharing
  • Ability to set and meet target and to work independently and in a team setting as well as deliver assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills, characterized by creativity and originality
  • Understanding of SEO and content strategy.
  • Demonstrate good Bahasa Indonesia and English language skills, both spoken and in written
  • Knowledge of sustainable fisheries and coastal management issues is a plus
