Dayakita
“Care is the strength and a political strategy for women-led organizations. It is a fuel to sustain movements and to challenge injustice.”
Dayakita is a program that provides various grants to women-led organizations and communities operating at the national or local level. This program aims to achieve gender equality and inclusivity by centering collective care principles at its core.
Many practices sideline and dismiss the significance of care work. For Humanis, care work is one, if not the most, important element in providing a safe space for all and to sustain initiatives for change. Our belief is straightforward and simple: collective care is a seed of life for the community, a pillar of support, and a constant reminder of the strength in the women’s movement.
Dayakita’s Grants
Dayakita presents three funding programs for communities and women’s rights organizations: Rawat Asa, Semai Setara, and Puan Berdaya. Each funding program has its unique purpose, but the common goals are to advance gender justice, reclaim women’s rights, and strengthen communities and women’s rights organizations.
In collaboration with other programs within Humanis, Dayakita also establishes a basket fund for the “Humanis Emergency Fund – Urun Jaga”. Like its name, Urun Jaga is an emergency funding mechanism for women, activists, and the like, who face threats, persecution, and violence digitally, psychologically, and physically for speaking out.
